First major big wave event in Europe???
Big wave surfer Garret McNamara is in Portugal to explore the possibilities of hosting a major big wave event in the small town of Nazaré. And it looks like he's convinced ;-) Here's a link to a short video from the Portuguese news and a link to some impressive photos.

there are several big wave spots in europe. france, spain, uk. think it's a question of getting a the money/sponsors together to organize+attract the big names. Me myself got more the feeling of: keep the big wave spots for the true surfers(no tow in...),dare devils. don't "milk it out". It's a special thing, so keep it special
