Headed out to Ouddorp yesterday for my first session since my trip to Bretagne. Perfect sunshine, a nice 23 knots, but a lot of chop. 1m waves 1m apart. In skiing this would have been an Olympic sport. Mogul skiing is quite spectacular to watch, but I always fear for the skiers' knees. Out on the water it was the same, but it still felt good to be sailing again......

Was it not a good direction for Ijmuiden? maybe more side/off and for sure less chop due to the long pier. Sometimes even total flat is even better than killer chop... at least with my knees ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, a day at the water is always better tahn a day in the office/dust

The had to do with the tide. Had a similar day in august with perfect conditions. Difference: low tide in august vs. high tide now....
ReplyDeleteIn the end it became better and better...
