Dreams do come true



End of the day..
totally stoked, happy but also pain. 4 heavily bruised ribs due to a big wipeout. Board got lauched by lip of wave straight into chest.
A painfull reminder the comming weeks. I would almost say: It is worth it... (not!- the pain is insane, now after a week I still can't lay down in bed, laugh, sneeze etc..)

Preview in the swell.....

A Still preview of the movie that hopefully will come soon. Had a cold rainy session yesterday at the 'Maasvlakte'. Sailing my 4.2 and gusts over 47 knots it was quite challenging. Conditions weren't that good though, very choppy and gusty. And off course still very cold, especially with the rain. But good enough to loosen the muscles for my trip to Brittany.

Got this message: Superb conditions (+forecasts) down in south Marokko..
So working on a good deal ticket now, hope to leave tomorrow...

update: found a ticket, flight will be tomorrow. Now time to pack!

Spring is here to stay

It can't go wrong anymore. Temperatures are rising, flowers pop out of the ground. It's light when you come home. Birds are starting to wake you up to early... Yeah the spring started.

Woke up "Kermit" from his wintersleep and went for a nice drive over some nice
bendy dyke roads. The river- forelands were totally flooded. A direct result of the melting snow in the Alps.
A fresh northwestern breeze, with the typical skies made the picture complete
The incomming goose and ducks were a joy for the dog ...

Wijk aan zee, March 20

I couldn't function normally anymore ;-), needed the taste and smell of salt water..
So early in the morning I drove to Wijk aan zee for a nice smooth sailing session.
The forecasts weren't that bad. Temperatures just above 10 degrees, a moderate wind of 4/5 bft. Water temp. just below 4 degrees..

Rigged The Hot Firepower 6.0, and took my big board. Sailed nice for about 3 hours, then the wind died. It didn't matter that much cause I was allready stoked that I was back on the water again after a too long cold winter period.

The board brought the color that the sky should have.

Normally you park the car in the gras next to the road. Now they made a new bike track on one side of the road, and on the other side they're gonna make parking places. It would be a bummer if it will be paid parking.....

We had to share the beach with some "Paris/Dakar" offroad racers..
Nice hauling engines and spectacular to see

Maui/Venezuela style tires ;-)

When I was in Venezuela I spotted that many cars had extreme wide tires. In Maui I saw it again..
So, now I had to check out how the Ghia looked in "Venezuele style"...
Hmm.. not my cup of tea :-)

Hot Sails Bolt 2011....

Nothing can stay unnoticed these days. Thanks to the beautiful pictures from Mauiwatershoot.com we get a glimps of the totally refurbished Bolt for 2011. We have to give Tom and the crew a big compliment. The new Bolt looks stunning!!
