Sun, sea, chalk and Harley-Davidson
Summer is back for a few days, so time for a short trip. Pack the van and head south.... along the coast.....through the south of the Netherlands..... through Belgium..... down into France! To where the cliffs start.
A pit stop in Belgium can't go without a local beer ;-)
In the end of the afternoon we arrived in Wissant.
Apéritif..... Kir!!!
The next morning we saw some sweet lines ;-)
Not the kind of waves we hoped for ;-)
The shadow on the beach made it a refreshing morning walk.
Looks a bit like tropical Islands shot from a plane ;-)
Stars in the night and at low tide....
Cosy in the buggy in the fresh morning.
World war II left overs....
There was a big bike tour with only Harley-Davidsons. We looked for a red one, but we couldn't find our friend from Bretagne ;-)
Cliffs and blue sea, that's already worth the trip.
The white cliffs lit up amazingly in the afternoon when the sun hit them.
Especially in combination with the green rocks.
Hmmm, the sand doesn't taste a lot better than at home.
The stones at the edge of the beach reminded me of Bretagne..... But, although it was nice walking on the cliffs and the beach, Nord-Pas-De-Calais doesn't come close to Bretagne. Even the 7 or 8 hours less driving doesn't make up for that, but does make it a nice weekend destination.

Some positive explosions on 9/11 at our summer spot!! Hurricane season starts earlier every year, so maybe in a few years we get this in July!?!?!
