Multiple fins.. (windsurf)

For 2 years people would mark these pictures as photoshop.
But what we got here is the real deal. Loads of fcs plugs + (some tool time) gives you multiple fin options.
Of course the function of fins goes hand in hand with the shape of the board/rails, but playing around is always fun.

time to raise the advertising costs ;-)

A thanx to you all. We will continue to keep you informed about the things we like to put down in text..

Carbon Eames chairs

The people at Garageworks "finetuned" some classic Eames chairs. Instead of the normal fiberglass (nowadays plastic,Vitra) they used carbon.
Maybe something for the motorsport freaks, but nothing for me. I prefer the classic ones with loads of patina.
Price of these carbon chairs: $1400-1700 .... Ouch!

Ahum, that money is easy made... still got loads of carbonfiber and chair"forms" ;-)

Paige going XXL....

Sean tipped me on some nice shots of a big day at Jaws.

Keala Kennely writes it down perfectly in her column "According to KK" on surfline.com:
"These women are out here pushing the limits all the time and yet you never here about them!"

Visited H&M (Herman and Mom)

While walking in the snowy forrest we came up the to idea to drive a little further, to visit my mom and Herman. Spontanious visits mostly turns out to be the best...
You can stand in front of a closed door with nobody in the area, or that open one... that turns to be in a warm/nice evening. We got lucky, we got the 2nd option..

Izzy (kind of a Ozzy??) is growing fast. Half a year now. He just went under a serieus surgery,
but I couldn't notice. Such a happy, alive dog.

Well what for dinner...
We got really lucky this time. There was rabbit in the house, and hungry people... ;-)

First some preparations on the fire, after that it went for some hours in the oven.
The result was superb. Meat that felt easy of the bone, and sooo tasty. The wine that got used for cooking (+ vegatables, herbs etc) was the perfect dip for the bread.

So, it became late (+ alcohol ..) and we stayed for a sleep.
The next morning I went to the attic for some treasure hunting.. Always funny to dig in some gear thats there for years.
I also came across 2 old boards.

This board from wood is from '87. Got very good memories of it. It went superb, did everything with it and I became almost one with it. If I look now at those sharp steep rails I got my thoughts... but hey, back in the days it was unbeatable!!
This spring I will bring it to the water again

These are pics from 1987. The proud owner, and a full planing duckjibe in a country without windsurfs ( back then...)
Now it's holiday resort area nr 1.. Turkey

ps, Hotsails is bringing back the sailcloth with the fading colors. Sail above was a Mistral wave line , made by Gaastra.

Homemade pizza

Nice steep wave of snow..

After walking in the snow, and getting some wet feet (I cracked through the snow/ice into a tiny river..) it was time to warm up.
What better than some hot fresh and crispy homemade pizza's!

Snow all over the atlantic coast...

Yesterday, the evening news already showed us the white beaches of San Sebastian. Normally around this time of the year, San Sebastian is a nice and relatively warm place in the Basque country. Perfect for a surftrip in those cold winter times. But not this year it seems....

This afternoon, I received an email from Pierre-Yves, our friend from Brittany. His pictures showed us that our other "save haven" also turned completely white....

Is the Atlantic coast from Galicia down to Tarifa the only snow-free destination of continental Europe nowadays? Maybe it's really true, maybe we are heading for a new iceage..... brrrrrr, let's hope not!! And lets hope spring comes early this year.....

PS: I don't hate snow, but I just love the waves soooo much more.....

Hot superfreak on ice

Dacron + "safety"colors... perfect on the ice

Official weather alarm..

It's non stop on the radio... There is a weather alarm. Don't go on the road, stay as much possible in your house.
Damm, whats going on... it's just a normal winter. The only thing whats going on is that people don't got the right equipment anymore. Or simply don't think clever. Walking on sneakers, jeans and a simple cotton jacket...
Driving around with their cars with well worn summer tires.

I know there is snow on the road, but hey... As long as you are a little clever you could know that it's extra slippery. Drive with care. Just put on some winter tires... (why do you think it's obliged in the scandinavian countries, germany etc..)

In my eyes it's one big public "bangmakerij" (getting people afraid)

Asymetrical tail + 1 2 3 4 5 fins

Came across this photo. Sure, it's nothing new, but nowadays with al the fins hype it's pretty actual. Windsurfers are whining about all the pro/contra's about 1 2 3 4 and so on fins..
Kelly is probably one of the only few that actually feel a difference ;-)

In the windsurfing scene it's a nice marketing tool that's gonna be used to the fullest..

Test ride movie....

This clip features the first 4 rides with my new longboard. I took the GoPro HD camera to test it as well. The video is uploaded to Vimeo and looses some quality due to down sampling by Vimeo. But still, the quality looks pretty darn good. Just need to get some RainX (stuff bikers use to keep their helmet free from drops).

I had some much nicer rides on other days, but the camera was mounted with the headstrap which needed to be secured with my neoprene cap. As the temperature wasn't really low, I got kinda hot. So the other days I left the GoPro in the bag.
